Every single day we lose business to bullshit. To be clear, sometimes we just blow it and don’t earn the The Sea of BSbusiness. That’s our fault, and we improve daily. But when we lose business because of some other REALTOR’s bullshit, it hurts. One of the most popular lines used by REALTORS during listing appointments is

“Well, the average house sells for 5% over asking but my record is 25% over asking. Now which would you rather have?”

Sure if you compare your 3 sales in the area to the hundreds over the past year, it’s likely that your numbers will be different. See how that’s not a valid indicator of success? When we meet home Sellers for the first time, we like to sit and have regular conversations. Confirm motivations, expectations, and personalities then hopefully blow them away with what we can do.

Before we get to the “What” we like to discuss our Why. If we can connect at the WHY level, the deepest of all levels. Then we are a good fit as Broker/Client. Believe it or not, some people simply aren’t a good match for the way we do things. We don’t spend money on print advertising, billboards and TTC Shelter ads. We spend our money ON and IN our community getting to know the people that help our business grow and fill our hearts with their awesomeness. We spend our TIME on creating engaging content on this blog. We like to be deeply embedded in our communities breaking stories, getting to know the people, and reporting fun and interesting facts. We spend our MONEY on events like this, and initiatives like this. When we’re not working for our communities we’re turning real estate marketing upside down with pieces like this, and we’re the only brokerage in Toronto that offer Immersive 3D tours like this on ALL of our listings.

This should matter to you because people know how deeply embedded we are in the communities in which we work so they come to us first to find them a place to live. This means we get your home in the face of people who want to live in your area more quickly and efficiently than others. They’re already calling us before we even meet you.
